Takes a request for a higher credit limit from the seller through the credit analyst to the approver, updates the credit profile and releases the orders the new limit covers.
Today a seller learns that an order is blocked when the customer calls, and asks credit control by email for a higher limit. The analyst assembles exposure, overdue items and payment history from 3 screens, and the decision travels back the same way.
A seller starts the request from the customer, or from the blocked order itself, with the amount and the reason. The app shows the analyst the current limit, live exposure, the open orders waiting on credit and the quotes about to become orders, together with the payment behaviour of the last 12 months. The analyst proposes a limit and a validity date, the credit manager approves within the band, and the finance director approves above it. On approval the app writes the new limit to the credit profile, releases the blocked orders the limit now covers and tells the seller.
| Lane | Does |
|---|---|
| Seller | asks for the change with the amount and the business reason |
| Credit analyst | assesses exposure and payment history, proposes a limit and a validity date |
| Credit manager | approves within the band or returns the proposal |
| Finance director | approves above 500,000 or a risk class change |
Every screen renders for desktop and mobile; portal screens are the same screens delivered to an outside login.
| Screen | What is on it |
|---|---|
| S01 Request | customer, requested limit, reason, expected orders in the next 90 days; blocked orders listed; submit |
| S02 Assessment | current limit, exposure, headroom, overdue amount, average days to pay over 12 months, risk class; grid of open orders and quotes; proposed limit and valid-to fields |
| S03 Approval | request and proposal side by side; approve, reduce or return; note |
| S04 Release | blocked orders the new limit covers, with value and requested date; release all or select |
| S05 Credit board | requests by stage and age; customers above 90 percent of limit; limits expiring in 30 days |
The first object is the main one; each system page shows the real table or resource behind every handler.
| Object | Why the app reads it | See it on |
|---|---|---|
| Credit profile | limit, exposure, risk class and validity per customer | S/4HANA · Oracle Fusion · Salesforce · Snowflake |
| Customer master | payment terms and block status | S/4HANA · Oracle Fusion · Salesforce · Snowflake |
| Sales order line | open orders, their value and credit block | S/4HANA · Oracle Fusion · Salesforce · Snowflake |
| Quotation | open quotes that will add to exposure once ordered | S/4HANA · Oracle Fusion · Salesforce · Snowflake |
| Object | What changes |
|---|---|
| Credit profile | new limit and valid-to date written to the credit profile; risk class updated when changed |
| Sales order line | credit block released on the orders the new limit covers |
Start: A seller submits S01 for a customer, usually from a blocked order or ahead of a large quote.
| Step | Moves when |
|---|---|
| Request submitted | customer identified; live exposure and blocked orders attached; analyst assigned by sales organisation |
| Assessed | analyst records the proposal with the headroom it creates; clock of 1 working day |
| Approved | credit manager approves up to 500,000; above that the finance director decides |
| Profile updated | limit and valid-to written to the credit profile; confirmation stored |
| Orders released | credit block removed on the covered orders; seller and customer service told |
| Component | Trigger → action → outcome |
|---|---|
| btn_submit | on click → read the credit profile and the blocked orders for the customer → open S02 for the analyst, start the 1-day clock |
| fld_proposed_limit | on change → compute headroom against exposure plus open quotes → show the band and route the approval step |
| btn_approve | on click → call the credit interface with the new limit and date → store the confirmation, open S04 |
| btn_release | on click → call the order change interface for each selected order → clear the block, close the request, refresh S05 |
| Step | Time limit and escalation |
|---|---|
| Assessment | 1 working day, then the analyst is reminded and the credit manager is copied |
| Approval | 1 working day, then the request escalates to the next approver |
Names, places and figures are illustrative; the pattern is the catalogue's.
At 09:05 Elena, a seller in Madrid, found that a 180,000 order for a retail chain was blocked for credit and started a request from the order. The analyst saw exposure at 96 percent of the limit, an average of 34 days to pay and 2 quotes due to close that month, and proposed a limit of 750,000 valid for 12 months by 10:20. The credit manager approved at 11:00, the profile changed within seconds, and the blocked order left for the warehouse before lunch.

About 30 minutes to a first running screen on your live rows, and 4 working days to the production-grade version described here, most of it spent agreeing screens and criteria with the process owner.
Any of SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce, Snowflake, with the objects read in place; the pages above show the objects and the write path for each. Two systems at once is one handler per object per system.
Every role in this app is inside the company; an outside role can be added as a lane with a portal screen.
Every step, value, decision, notification and write-back acknowledgement of every instance, with the version of the app, append-only.
Bring the process and the systems it touches. In the first session we register the data handlers, draw the levels or the lanes and run the first screen on your live rows.
